Will I be able to scan immediately after completing the course?

Although you will have all the knowledge to successfully perform DXA scans by the end of the course weekend, you cannot legally perform DXA scans until you obtain your permit from the California Department of Public Health. If you would like to continue training when returning to your clinic/employer, you may practice positioning and analysis under the supervision of a certified DXA technician, but you must not be in the exam room with the patient/client when X-Rays are being emitted.
