- As of October 2024, our waitlist is projected through 2030, BUT it is highly likely you will move UP in the waitlist as people ahead cancel or defer. We are currently enrolling students who have been on the waitlist just over 1 year.
In compliance with UC San Diego campus policy, we are still requiring our students to be fully vaccinated (including at least 1 booster, if eligible) against COVID-19 by the time they attend the in-person training portion of the course.
This is a hybrid course with both an Online Lecture portion and an In-Person Training portion. You must attend both portions to complete the course. Visit our COURSE INFORMATION page for further details about the course structure.

- You will receive a notification via email when it is your turn to register for the next class. (Tip: Add ucsdboneschool@gmail.com to your email Contacts so this message does not go to Spam)
- If you are not able to attend the class you are assigned to register for, you may defer to the next class up to two times. If you’re still unable to attend, you will be placed at the end of the waitlist.
- You must respond to EVERY registration invitation with either a completed registration or request for deferral. If we do not receive a response by the date listed in your invitation email, you will be removed from the waitlist.
- You will be contacted no later than 2 weeks before the start of a scheduled class session if a spot becomes available.
- Cancelations less than 2 weeks before our course are not very common.
- Students who have already registered have picked specific dates for the in-person training portion of the course. If they cancel, you will only have the option for the in-person training date they vacated.
How to Register:
- Registration will be offered directly via an emailed link to individuals who have signed up on our waitlist (See Waitlist information above).
- Registration is operated through an online ticketing platform where they charge an additional transaction fee on top of our course fee. Registration is not available through the UCSD Registrar
- Before you register: We recommend that you know what date you prefer for in-person training and consider alternate dates in case your first choice is no longer available by the time you register. If you already work at a facility that uses DXA machines, we also recommend that you find out if they use a Hologic or GE Lunar machine. Otherwise, you can train on either machine and the techniques are interchangeable and the state permit exam is not machine-specific.
